Welcome to Eisenhower's Retreat, so named because Eisenhower stayed here during a visit to Tybee! This large quintessential Tybee beach cottage is so spacious and works perfectly for large and multi-generational families seeking a peaceful Tybee stay. There is private beach access, a private travertine pool, and ample relaxing space on the screened in wraparound porch overlooking the pool and gardens.
Enter the property via a secluded driveway off Butler Ave and arrive at this unique Tybee estate. You'll walk up to the front porch immediately greeted into Tybee's history and charm. The kitchen's retro vibes add whimsy to a perfect stay. The kitchen is fully outfitted to cook family meals and lunches to bring to the beach. Just to the right, the inviting living room features soaring ceilings and original tongue in groove walls whitewashed for that coastal bright feeling. There is plenty of seating to relax after a nice day of beaching and exploring and to catch up with your family and friends.
Down the hall towards the back porch, you'll find the 4 main bedrooms and full hallway bath. There are 2 queen bedrooms, a primary king suite with full bath attached, and a bedroom with 2 fulls. There is a large full bath that services the 3 guest rooms here as well.
Heading out onto the large back screened porch you find the real gem of the cottage. There is comfortable living furniture to have morning coffee and evening cocktails, a dining area for quaint family dinners, and so much space to soak up the Tybee weather and views of the pool and gardens.
Under the house, sitting just 2-3 steps below the pool level, are outdoor showers, a powder room, the laundry room, and bedroom 5 which is the perfect getaway for kids or those that want a more private room. This room is air conditioned and has a TV. This room is right across from the half bath and outdoor showers.
